Everyone at one time or another, experiences problems or special concerns at home or at work. Generally, personal problems can be worked out without the assistance of a professional. However, there are times when despite our best efforts, a problem may persist, impacting on our health, family life and performance on the job.
Counselling is a formal method of discussion between an individual and a qualified, impartial counselling practitioner who will help resolve or improve a wide variety of concerns. Jointly, the individual and Counsellor explore the situation(s), decide what needs to be changed, and develop a plan to resolve or ameliorate the situation. No concern is too big or too small if it is affecting an individual's or family's well-being.
The Councellor's role is to provide guidance, support, and encouragement to the individual seeking help. The individual's role is to put into action the plans negotiated with the Counsellor.
